- Sponsors for College Tuition* - There are many bright students in Mozambique, but many of them never get to go to college because they can't afford it. Tuition for a year of college here can be as low as $1,500 a year.
- Mosquito Nets* - Malaria is the biggest killer of children under 5, and most of it can be stopped with treated mosquito nets.
- A Projector - We have everything we need to do outreaches to villages and show the Jesus film except a projector. Before the one at our base was stolen, the pastors would do outreaches to villages in the area, and the visitors occassionally would go with them. Every time we show the film, we have a crowd of 1,000-3,000 people that get to hear the gospel in their own language.
- Someone interested in music recording - While there are a number of gospel CDs from other countries, there is almost no Mozambican Christian music. Mozambicans love their music and many people are eager to be recorded, we don't have the hardware necessary or a person willing to record groups. The quality does not have to be very good, but the idea is to make several CDs, then teach the pastors how to copy CDs and make labels, and sell those CDs to other Christians, who then can go out on the street to sell. This would create jobs in addition to getting Christian music into the hands of Mozambicans.
- Sponsors for "Foster" Homes - Many of the Christians in our area take in orphan children so they don't have to live on the street. However, this overexends the families financially, especially for the families that take in 8-12 kids! However, if we just give the family money, they will need it again the next month - we haven't really changed anything. We would like to build chicken coups, buy small plots of land for farms, purchase goats - whatever would help the family the most.
Needs
These are not actually needs. God has given us everything we need! Rather, they are things we could definitely use in the work here in Mozambique. Things with an asterisk next to them are needs of other centers, organizations, or pastors - fellow laborers in the harvest that we don't work with everyday.
