Dondo Center

Dondo Entrance

We are located on the EN 6, the main highway from Beira to Zimbabwe.

Dondo Gate

"The Center of Love" - We strive to show the love of Jesus to our kids, workers, and the surrounding community.

Basketball Court

Completed last year, this basketball court gets enjoyed year-round by our kids, church members, and Bible school students alike. Oddly enough, football is the most popular sport to play on the court.

Kids Helping Jeff Paint

The kids help out around the base, especially if the missionaries are doing something fun. Here, some of our younger kids are helping paint the basketball posts.

Clinic

This is a glimpse of our clinic. However, it's not quite operational yet. The widows sitting outside are there for the monthly food distribution.

Bible School with Future Students

Our Bible School is three terms of three month intensive training. We have 60-70 students at a time from 18 years old all the way up to 50+.

Bible School Students

Here, the Bible School students are preparing for their exam. Each term consists of seven disciplines, with topics like "How to Preach", "Basic Theology", and "Old Testament Survey"

Church Building

This is the church building. However, we are in the process of building a cement block church to replace the current mud and stick one.

Conference Center Stage

In the back of our base, there is a large area shaded by mango trees. We use this area for conferences, special events, and "1st Sunday" where the other Iris churches that are close come and join us.

Conferences

Every year, we have several conferences. Speakers come from all over the world to preach to the spiritually hungry crowd. We have sitting room for about 200 and standing room for over 4000.

The Dondo Kids

These are most of our kids, seated on the stage. We have 28 kids on the center and support many more with the help of local pastors.

Administration Offices

These offices and the work done in them ensures that the rest of the center can keep functioning.

Kids Spending Time with Missionaries

The kids, especially the youngest ones, enjoy hanging out and playing with the missionaries.

The Prayer and Meeting Hut

This hut is at the spiritual and physical center of the base. We hold prayer meetings and leadership meetings in it.

Missionary Housing

We have space for up to 18 missionaries, though usually there are 2-5 of us. We are always praying for more people to come with a heart to serve.

The Preschool

Though our preschool only began this year (2011), we already have almost 50 kids that come! Each morning, they learn basic math, reading and writing, and about the Bible. They also get to eat lunch at the base before heading home.

Painting

Here, Laura is painting a mural on the Bible School. She set the painting up, and many of the students and our kids participated in painting the later stages.

Our Library Through Flowers

There are quite a number of plants on the base, and the kids, workers, and missionaries work together to keep them looking beautiful. Behind the flowers is a view of the library where the kids study and do their homework.
